CitySolve

2023 — 1st Prize CVUM
AI-Powered Civic Issue Management Platform

Overview

CitySolve is a comprehensive, multi-layered GovTech platform that digitizes and streamlines the reporting, tracking, and resolution of local infrastructure faults — from severe potholes to water leaks. It bridges the communication gap between citizens and municipal authorities through an efficient, transparent, and AI-automated pipeline, replacing fragmented legacy systems with a single source of truth.

The Problem & Market Opportunity

Complaints Delayed or Lost
$B+
Annual Govt Waste

The global Smart Cities market is projected to surpass $1 trillion by 2030 at nearly 20% annual growth. Yet today, an estimated 60–70% of civic complaints are delayed, duplicated, or lost in paper trails — costing local governments billions annually in reactive maintenance, vehicle damage claims, and wasted resources. CitySolve eliminates these bottlenecks by replacing fragmented reporting with a centralized, AI-verified system that guarantees SLA accountability.

Core Features & Architecture

  • Multi-Tier Portals: Dedicated dashboards for all ecosystem participants — citizens reporting issues, municipal authorities managing them, system administrators overseeing the platform, and contractors executing repairs.
  • AI-Driven Verification (Google Gemini): Automatically validates incoming infrastructure reports, identifies and merges duplicate tickets, and drastically reduces manual triage workload for authorities.
  • Operational Transparency: Real-time geo-tracking of issues, strict SLA monitoring, and automated status notifications maintain full transparency across the entire resolution lifecycle.
  • Scalable Backend: Node.js backend with MongoDB handles high-volume photo uploads, complex geospatial mapping, and concurrent multi-user sessions without degradation.

Current Position

CitySolve has moved well beyond ideation — it captured 1st Prize at the CVUM Hackathon, validating both its technical architecture and immediate market viability. The platform's foundational concepts were originally engineered to tackle the crowdsourced civic issue themes of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), giving it a strong alignment with national-scale GovTech priorities.

Scaling Roadmap

Phase 1 — Months 0–3

Local Market Penetration

Deploy targeted beta testing within localized municipal wards or campus environments. Goal: establish initial community adoption and calibrate the Node.js backend and Gemini AI models against live, real-world civic data streams.

Phase 2 — Months 4–8

Municipal Market Integration

Build robust API bridges allowing CitySolve to integrate seamlessly with legacy government databases — so municipalities can adopt the platform without overhauling existing infrastructure. Goal: achieve a measurable 30%+ reduction in average issue resolution timeframes.

Phase 3 — Months 9–12+

Regional Expansion & Predictive AI

Expand to multiple cities and broader regional districts. Shift the platform's value proposition from reactive management to predictive analytics — forecasting where infrastructure is most likely to fail next (e.g., road degradation patterns post-monsoon) and empowering city planners with data-driven dashboards.

Technical Stack

  • Backend: Node.js
  • Database: MongoDB (geospatial + high-volume photo storage)
  • AI Engine: Google Gemini (report validation & duplicate detection)
